|A pair of courting Great Crested Grebes at Meresands Wood LWT reserve. Despite making all the right moves this particular pair are yet to successfully raise any young. Hopefully this year they’ll succeed.

Thankfully the Tree Sparrow population appears relatively stable at Martin Mere. Unfortunately in common with so many other farmland birds the situation elsewhere is more worrying.
