Yet again, another cloudy day. The lack of sunshine this winter is remarkable even for Manchester. Hopefully the weather will soon begin to improve.

The lack of sunshine hasn’t affected the resident Ring-necked Parakeets. Spring is very definitely in the air.

Long-tailed Tits beginning to pair up with noticeably fewer family groups seen flitting around the trees.

Despite being a non-native species I still find them to be a welcome addition to our bird population. Hopefully the earlier fears regarding competition with other hole nesting species have died down. Strange that they’re largely ignored by the resident Sparrowhawks.
