A few photo’s from a visit to see the immature, Long-tailed Duck that’s been enjoying life at Crosby Marina for the past few days.
Normally a winter visitor to the seas of northern and western Britain it looks like this one has opted for the quieter water of Crosby Marina. With a freezing cold wind that rapidly chilled the bones its easy to appreciate why life on the high seas didn’t appeal.
Surprisingly approachable perhaps with it being in its first winter its experience of humans is still good.
Diving for small fish and crustaceans.
Now you see it …………..
Now you don’t ………………………… 😀
Hopefully one day we’ll catch up with an adult.
