Unfortunately due to the footpaths being strimmed\u00a0 the chances of seeing any Otters was pretty remote. Likewise most of the birdlife appeared to have flown. It\u2019ll be interesting to see how the Yellow Pitcher plant survives. In common with all Pitcher Plants it really belongs in America.\u00a0 Unlike the yellow species the Purple Pitcher Plant is relatively hardy and grows quite happily outside all year round in the south-west. Not too sure how it\u2019d get on up north.<\/p>\n<p>Hard to imagine that in mid-winter 6 million Starlings roost in Westhay\u2019s reedbeds one day we\u2019ll have to call down in early February.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finally got round to visiting Westhay Moor.
