Highlights from a recent visit to the Butterfly Conservation Society managed Alners Gorse<\/a> on one of the hottest days of the year.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Another Purple Hairstreak, one of 12 feeding on nectar and honeydew around the Alder Buckthorns<\/td>\n26C one of the hottest days of the year, gloriously sunny and still no opening of the wings or attempts at flying.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Hard to resist another opportunity to see one of our rarest Hairstreaks on the walk back to the car – a superb butterfly within possibly the best location in the country for hairstreak butterflies.
