Great to come across a family of Black Redstarts along the SW Coast Path.  I\u2019d been planning on trying to photograph the Peregrines hunting along the sea cliffs so for once I even had the right camera setup with me.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Superb birds and a real unexpected treat. In common with the Peregrine they share a preference for inaccessible sea cliffs and tall buildings. With less than 100 pairs thought to be breeding within the UK they\u2019re also one of our rarest.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

For many years considered to be a member of the Thrush family its now been recognised that Black Redstarts belong to the Old World Flycatchers. <\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
