{"id":5759,"date":"2019-06-22T17:24:23","date_gmt":"2019-06-22T17:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/naturalbornblogger.co.uk\/?p=5759"},"modified":"2019-11-03T10:01:21","modified_gmt":"2019-11-03T10:01:21","slug":"marismas-del-odiel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/naturalbornblogger.co.uk\/?p=5759","title":{"rendered":"Marismas del Odiel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few highlights from a visit to the estuary of the River Odiel on the outskirts of Huelva in southern Spain.<\/p>\n<p>An important protected area the marismas have a rich biodiversity and help form a vital stopping place for migratory birds heading along the coast of western Europe to Africa.\u00a0The varied habitats include salt and freshwater marshes, salt pans, lagoons and creeks. In addition there is also a Visitor Centre and strategically located viewing screens.<\/p>\n<p>Special thanks are due to the staff at the &#8216;<em>Centro de Recepci\u00f3n La Calatilla \u2013 Anastasio Senra&#8217; v<\/em>isitor Centre. Really friendly and keen to offer advice and assistance on the best areas and species to be found. Amongst the parched vegetation plenty of Sea Daffodils\/Sand Lilies to be found.
