The first problem was getting there. As we rounded a corner a swollen stream crossed the narrow road. A car parked on the opposite side suggested that even the locals had decided it just wasn&#8217;t worth the risk. I could probably reverse, put my foot down and we might be alright. Close to the top we enjoyed some wonderful views as the Cuckoo dropped in on the Meadow Pipits.
