\nMistletoe growing at Parsonage Gardens, Disbury \u2013 fairly safe to assume its not been planted !<\/p>\n

Local knowledge suggests that at some point between 1912-1919 Alderman Fletcher Moss had mistletoe \u2018planted\u2019 on the old apple tree in his Parsonage Garden in Didsbury. The original apple tree has long since disappeared however Mistletoe can now be found in several trees around The Parsonage Gardens, St James\u2019s Church, Fletcher Moss Gardens and Barlow Moor Road.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nUnfortunately this years crop of berries has either failed or already been harvested by the local Mistle Thrushes. Interesting to note none of the Mistletoe is growing on its traditional apple tree host. In fact Willow and Black Poplar seems to be the local favourite.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

\nWhilst in Didsbury I decided to take the opportunity to check up on the local population of Rose-Ringed Parakeets. There appears to be approximately 6 birds in Fletcher Moss Gardens and a further 2 in the nearby Fog Lane Park.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
