One of approximately 60 that visit Kenworthy Woods and Chorlton Water Park each winter. Normally seen feeding on Alder or Birch seeds.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"600\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"2\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"600\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Siskin (female)\" src=\"http:\/\/naturalbornblogger.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/DSC_3962-2_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"Siskin (female)\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nA female Siskin.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Siskin and Goldfinch there\u2019s also a small group of Lesser Redpoll within the woodlands. Occasionally they\u2019ll be seen feeding by themselves however if one of the local Sparrowhawks is around they\u2019ll join one of the larger groups of finches. Hopefully I\u2019ll be able to take a photo of one before the winter is over.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"600\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Unknown bracket fungus\" src=\"http:\/\/naturalbornblogger.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/P1070815_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"Unknown bracket fungus\" width=\"600\" height=\"899\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nI\u2019m not too sure about the identification of this bracket fungus seen growing on a dead tree stump in Kenworthy Woods.
