Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs

A quick round-up from the last few days of April and the arrival of a couple of Summer migrants.

 Blackcap (male)
Male Blackcap
Nevermind the swallows the song of the male Blackcap is one of the first signs of summer arriving. This year the late Spring and lack of insects has been really noticeable. I hope the Blackcaps will be fine. It looks like the local hawthorn is at least 2 weeks late coming into leaf.
