Fasciated plant material on a Lesser Water Parsnip
Not too sure about the identification of the white plant material however it was low down on Lesser Water Parsnip. At first I thought it was something that had just blown in perhaps off other plants within the area but something just struck me as being odd about it so I took a couple of record shots with the intention of identifying it when I got home. A week later and I’m still no wiser.

The Giant Bellflower
Giant Bellflower

Great to see the Bellflowers in the roadside verges and next to the entrance. The wild version growing in its natural habitat certainly looks better than the straggly specimens I tried to raise from seed a couple of years ago.

The diversity of plants (and other wildlife) within the Malham area is really impressive. Hopefully next summer we’ll find the time to take a tent up there – campsite next door to the National Nature Reserve Smile
