Ringlet, Higher Hyde Heath |
| A quick trip up the road whilst staying in Dorset to Higher Hyde Heath. Mid July 28C we didn’t expect to see a lot however there’s always something to be found. |
Gatekeeper |
| The sheer number of Butterflies was astounding with the Gatekeeper being by far the most common. A real pleasure to see them in perfect condition. |
Speckled Wood |

| Again freshly hatched and in common with the Gatekeeper a species often seen back home. | Unfortunately absent from most of north west England. I hadn’t realised just how different the males and females are. Sadly this one is fairly worn. |
Large Skipper |
And the something to be found was a pair of Turtle Doves….typically the long lens was sat in the boot of the car  I briefly thought about going back but instead decided to enjoy the view. |
