Entrance to the Eric Morecambe hide
Where else but the Eric Morecambe hide close to the RSPB’s Leighton Moss Reserve. Probably the most appropriate of all the tributes to the comic genius.
Male Bearded Tit Female Bearded Tit
Male Bearded Tit further over on the main RSPB reserve Female Bearded Tit, again just off the causeway across the reedbeds.

Little Egret patrolling the edge of the reed bed

Great White Egret
The Little Egret’s larger cousin – the Great White Egret, one of the recent beneficiaries of climate change. Has climate ever been static?
Kingfisher at the edge of the reed beds
A very good year for Kingfishers. One of 5 seen. It had been a bit closer however somebody made the mistake of calling it out and the usual stampede followed. Perhaps unsurprisingly the Kingfisher moved a little further away.
Redshank an appropriately named bird.
