Lady Orchid and the hybrid Monkey x Lady Orchid on the Orchid slope at Hartslock
A small part of the “Orchid Slope.”
Monkey Orchid Spot the Monkey !
Monkey Orchid. Unfortunately the chances of seeing one of these in the north of England is nil. The eyes, nose, arms, legs and tail are distinctive. Restricted to Hartslock and a couple of places in Kent.
Lady Orchid Close up of the flower from a Lady Orchid
Lady Orchid.  Slightly earlier flowering this one was just on the verge of going over. Again, unlikely to be mistaken for anything else.
Lady x Monkey Orchid hybrid White Bryony - a toxic member of the Cucumber family
The Lady x Monkey hybrid. Taller and stronger growing than either of its parents – a good example of hybrid vigour. Plenty of other interesting plants on site with White Bryony  our only native member of the Cucumber family being particularly common.
