One of the Chiltern’s Red Kites. A magnificent bird but unfortunately on this occasion the bright overcast conditions doesn’t make for a great photograph.

Watercress in the crystal clear water of Ewelme Brook
Looking rather leggy the Watercress is no longer grown for market and the beds are now managed as a local nature reserve. Surprisingly the beds were abandoned in 1988 due to a decline in water quality.

Unfortunately we didn’t see any Water Voles however plenty of Blackcaps, Grey Wagtails, Brimstone and Peacock Butterflies.
