Mam Tor
After walking up from Castleton we were a little surprised to find a large National Trust car park just below the summit. Normally hill-forts and other ancient monuments tend to have an atmospheric quality about them. Oddly Mam Tor didn’t. Norden Heath
A few highlights from Norden Heath taken back in August (seems a long time ago now). The roadside verges around East Creech and the various footpaths leading down to the heath are one of the best areas in the country for the relatively uncommon Nettle-leaved Bellflower. A Return to the Marismas del Odiel
Entrance to one of the very few European breeding colonies of the Greater Flamingo. Located on a dis-used salt pan close to the Anastasio Senra visitor centre access is restricted to avoid disturbance. Fortunately in late June the breeding season is over and pedestrian access is available. In addition to Greater Flamingo’s plenty of European Spoonbill’s to be found. Read More …
